We will conclude our special sessions of the Clinical Topology Workshop
on Saturday, _November 7th_, at _6 P.M. CEST_/_12 P.M. EST_/_9 A.M.
PST_. Up to this point, we have covered several movements in the
formalism of Jacques Lacan, beginning with Freud's /Letter 52/ to
Fliess, to the geometry of the /projective plane/, the /R/ and /I
schemas/, the object /a/, and the /cross-cap/. In this final session, we
will explore the more technical ideas beyond concepts directly
articulated by Lacan's work, but certainly implied: necessary
consequences of topology, the /2-sphere/ (/Janus sphere/) and its
peculiar properties of global connection, as well as the means by which
these constructs interact with neurotic and psychotic structures. The
session is open to all /via/ Zoom and is free of charge. A reminder with
an enclosed Zoom link will be sent out the day before.
Since the aim of this workshop is to introduce these concepts in
psychoanalytic topology to non-mathematicians, we invite any and all
questions regarding these structures that might make them legible,
practical, or understood. This approach will be the engine of our
seminar as we conclude with a clinical vantage on neurotic and psychotic
structures.
